Peepli Live: Vidarbha farmers protesting against Aamir Khan’s movie

Vidarbha farmers are protesting against Aamir Khan’s latest movie ‘Peepli Live’, they feel that latest Aamir Khan’s produced movie ‘Peepli Live’ suggests farmers to commit suicide to gain compensation from the government. The farmers are demanding Aamir Khan to give clarification about the movie or else the movie should be banned.

Actually it is a fantastic satire that reflects the real India. Thanks and hats off to Aamir Khan. The film stars Naya Theatre company member Omkar Das, Manikpuri as well as Raghubir Yadav, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shalini Vatsa and Malaika Shenoy along with a number of newcomers. A satire on the farmers’ suicides and subsequent media and political response.

On the eve of national elections in the Indian village of Peepli, two poor farmers, Natha and Budhia, face losing their land over an unpaid government loan. So, there is only one way to get out of this suicide then his family will get aid from the government. His brother is happy to push him towards this unique 'honor' but Natha is reluctant. When a journalist overhears Budhia urge Natha to "do what needs to be done" for the sake of their families, a media frenzy ignites around whether or not Natha will commit suicide. A must watch movie.
